Meet Joshua R. Busbee
The world of Galican was carved out between cement walls. At seventeen, Joshua was sentenced to twenty years in prison. In the heat and silence of a solitary cell in Miami—skin burning with scabies, hunger haunting him from food being withheld by guards— the nagging voice telling him to give up grew ever louder. Instead, he began building another world.
It was there, stripped of comfort and illusion, that the sentiment at the heart of his work took shape—one that still drives both his life and echoes in his stories: you don’t always get to choose what happens to you, but you always choose what you do next.
Today, Joshua stands on the other side of that crucible—a husband, a father of three, and a builder of second chances. He is a serial entrepreneur who owns and operates a construction company, a real estate business, a drug recovery program, and a staffing company dedicated to hiring people with records and giving them a real path forward. Every structure he raises—whether forged in steel, strategy, or human potential—is built on the belief that a single mistake does not get to decide the ending.
From inmate to architect, from survival to stewardship, Joshua’s mission is unwavering: to prove that redemption is not a myth—and to leave behind as many roads to it as possible.
